Curmudgeons Everywhere

I have great friends. I got an email over the weekend from one such person with the subject line: a gift from me to you. I couldn't imagine what kind of gift Mark might send me, or why for that matter, so I opened the email with some trepidation. I needn't have worried.

I love words and I especially love interesting words. I had mentioned to Mark once that I liked the word curmudgeon. He filed away that fact in his sizable store of grey matter and waited. Mark's company is involved in providing DNS services and he trades internet domains for fun, so he watched for domain names with curmudgeon as part of the name. When came available, he pounced. Then he gave the domain to me. Not only that, when you go to that domain, you end up here at my Atavist blog. Neat, eh?

Thanks, Mark. I am now better able to let the world know that I am a a bad-tempered, difficult, cantankerous person.

  1. I'm really a soft-spoken inoffensive guy. Really. Unless someone really gets my ire up of course, which happens really infrequently.
