Hang our heads in shame . . .

From an article in the Vancouver Sun:

Marc Emery agrees to five years in Canadian prison

VANCOUVER - Marc Emery, Vancouver's self-styled Prince of Pot, has tentatively agreed to a five-year prison term in a plea bargain over U.S. money laundering and marijuana seed-selling charges.

  1. Ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww...NOT good.
I don't see any benefit that can ever come from knuckling under to tyrants.
One compromise will embolden the oppressor to demand more, and whatever bribes are initially offered are altered or renigged after agreement.

  2. This whole thing is ridiculous. Marc caved in primarily because one of his co-defendents, a woman who has Crohn's disease, would have ended up suffering badly, or even dying in jail.

The world is truly a screwed up place.
