Where Are The Jews?

I have watched the aftermath of the Toledo, Ohio, riots last Saturday with some interest. Numerous thugs, mostly blacks as far as I could tell from television news footage, rioted in response to a neo-Nazi rally which, if I remember correctly, was scheduled but didn't actually take place. As my wife and I watched young blacks kick down doors and commit other mayhem, she turned to me and asked: "Where are the Jews?"

I knew exactly what she meant.

I was born in Germany just after the end of World War II. I know all about the Nazis. The racist and political ideology of the Nationalsozialistische Deutsche Arbeiterpartei (National Socialist German Workers Party) caused great harm to my family, including the death of two of my brothers and two uncles. The real brunt of the Nazis' malevolence though, was borne by the Jews. They were persecuted, harassed, exterminated. They have every right to hate Nazis, including the 'neo' variety.

Where were the Jews?

Most Jews wouldn't engage in the type of behaviour we witnessed in Toledo on Saturday. Jews have been persecuted since time immemorial and have long since learned to survive and prosper. They don't riot, don't commit violent acts, don't loot. Why not? Because they refuse to perceive themselves as victims.

Blacks don't have 'loot and riot' genes. There is no biological reason why they should respond to every perceived threat with violence. I believe that the blame for this sort of behaviour rests squarely on the shoulders of the Jessie Jacksons and Louis Farrakhans of the world. They tell their black acolytes, at every opportunity, that they are oppressed, discriminated against, violated. To make things worse, these 'leaders' excuse violent behaviour by saying that it is bred by frustration, lack of opportunity, unemployment. The sort of behaviour by young blacks in Toledo is inexcusable and their leaders should tell them so.

  1. I agree with much of your post except for the comment about Jews not seeing themselves as victims. Just because Jews are less violent than blacks does not mean that they do not play the same victimization game.
