Do People Care? Ask Walter E. Williams

Straight on the heels of my last rant about everyone blaming everyone else for their troubles, comes yet another excellent insight via this article by Walter E. Williams, a professor of economics at George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia. I love this guy. He and Thomas Sowell are two of my favourite authors, because they look for truth and find it in places where blinkered authors and researchers never go.

For anyone who can't access the article at the link above, here is another place to find it: Do People Care.

  1. Didn't have any trouble at all, of course, I use Mozilla Firefox:)
Ignorant plebescheithe everywhere are falling for Der Schtaat's divide-and-conquer rope-a-dope:
Create a "poor, oppressed, victim of society" mentality among certain voter blocks, and exploit, exploit, exploit.
Quite childish, really...But that's what comes of generations of never bothering to think, just "feeeeeel".

  2. "...never bothering to think, just feel." Yep, that's about it. Sad, very sad.

  3. I like both of those writers, too. The reason I like them is that they emphasize how important it is to make policy decisions from intellect, rather than emotion.

Do you notice the trend right now in the national media, building up fear of "terrorists" again?

    So predictable.

  4. I do notice, Chani. One sure way to manipulate the masses is to keep them in a state of constant fear. Good point!
