Human Slime

I haven't the time to post any of my disjointed ramblings just now, but I did receive a link via email this morning that I thought I should pass along: National Sex Offender Registry. The registry covers the United States. I don't know whether we have anything similar here in Canada. What I was struck with was how many registered sex offenders there are. I checked on Plano, Texas, where I have relatives, and was astounded to see how many offenders live there. Do the citizens know this? Can they do anything about it? Does anyone care?

The larger question, of course, is what makes these twisted people become what they are? I have no problem with just about anything that consenting adults might choose to do in the bedrooms of the world, but for goodness sakes, children as sex objects? Children?!

  1. Thanks for posting about the "human slime". I searched my area and (thank heavens)didn't find any offenders nearby. I have two boys (13 & 8).

BTW, I don't find your ramblings to be disjointed :)

    Take care,
    Mia

  2. Thank you, Mia. I get scared every time I read about one of these predators. My son is almost 14 now, but as he was growing up I was afraid to let him out of my sight.

  3. To find out why this sort of thing has become so prevalent and nearly pandemic in the USA, here's another link that, upon exploration in detail, makes it self-explanitory:

There is a distinct difference between a libertarian, and a "civil libertarian": The former stands for individual liberty and sovereignty, the latter is socialistic and propounds collectivism under the guise of liberalism, using democracy against itself.
I would not be a bit surprised, for example, to learn that the piece of human slime that got Andrea Yates off was an "ACLUnatic" as well!

  4. My husband is the IT Director for DuPage county, and he has access to all the records of all the perverts who are in our town. It's a scary thing when you realize these people are not just "in the news." They're everywhere.

  5. The distinction between libertarian and civil libertarian is well noted. It is just another way that language as used today (newspeak, a la 1984?)is imprecise at best and perverse at worst. Individual responsibility is certainly not high on the list of collectivist thought, whichever group it happens to spring from.

  6. No, there isn't such a registry here in Canada. Well, there is.. but it's not public. That boy in Ontario that went to the states to kill registered sex offenders.. everyone wondered why he went there to do it.. because he could find them with a few clicks of the mouse.

I don't agree with posting their addresses, neccessarily, but I do agree with posting their zipcodes or postal codes.

I don't know why some people prefere children, but I can guess and I'd say that it's the innocence that attracts them and the power they can wield.

Innocence is a powerful stimulant. Power is an aphrodisiac. Evil and sickness in a world that promote sexualization of our youth on every bus stop ad and magazine page and every rock video and marketing gimick and every desensitizing newspaper article and every lax sentence.. why wouldn't it happen.

I've seen in my time with Oee, two men look at her in that way. I know the look and I know it well. It's evil. But, it's promoted within our society in many discrete and overt and insidious ways.

I honestly believe that we are all to blame.

Thus my letter to Mattel, posted a while back on COAHTR.

It won't have done much good, but if we aren't part of the solution, we are part of the problem.

The best way to fight pedophilia is with intolerant and education.
